It's that time of year again. School is in session, and all of the new seasons of your favorite shows will be starting. Season nine of "Dancing With The Stars" will soon be premiering, but you may be a little anxious to know who is dancing this season. Here is a list of the contestants, and a few predictions on who may make their way to the top.
In the past, "Dancing With the Stars" has proved to be largely based on popularity. The most well known celebrities who will be dancing this season include "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star Melissa Joan Hart, singer Aaron Carter, and supermodel Kathy Ireland. Donny Osmond, whose sister Marie made it very far in a previous season, is also going to be competing.
There are a few other celebrities who are also fairly well known, but not quite as popular or expected to go as far in the competition. They include R&B singer Mya, singer Macy Gray, swimsuit model Joanna Krupa, and Ozzy's daughter Kelly Osbourne. If they have enough fans and talent, these celebrities could also do well.
Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell of UFC, former Dallas Cowboys player Michael Irvin, professional snowboarder Louie Vito, and Olympic-winning swimmer Natalie Coughlin are the athletes who will be competing this season. Shawn Johnson, Kristi Yamaguchi, Apolo Anton Ohno, and Emmitt Smith are all athletes who have won the show in the past, so the chances of another athlete winning seem probable.
Shannen Doherty's ex-husband Ashley Hamilton, Debi Mezar of "Entourage," "The Next Iron Chef" chairman Mark Dacascos, and former Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay are a few of the lesser known celebrities who will be competing this season.
It should be interesting to see how this season plays out. Many people do not enjoy watching "Dancing With The Stars" because it seems to drag on forever. However, this is not something that you will need to worry about this season. Unlike previous seasons, there are going to be double eliminations several times to speed up the overall pace of the show. "Dancing With The Stars" premieres at 8 o'clock on Monday, Sept. 21 on ABC. The results show will take place the following night at the same time.
