"The Vagina Monologues" will be presented by students and staff at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania Thursday, February 12 and Friday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. in Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts.
Advanced tickets are available by phone at 570-422-3472 or 422-3378. Cost for tickets is $10 ($5 for ESU Students with valid ID). Tickets will also be available at the door for $12 ($8 for ESU students). The box office opens at 6:30 p.m. each evening. If necessary, the snow day for the performance is set for Saturday, February 14.
This 9th annual presentation of the Monologues is part of the university's Women's History Month Celebration and will benefit Women's Resources of Monroe County.
Funds raised through ticket sales will be contributed to Women's Resources by the ESU student group, Women for Awareness. The production is sponsored by ESU's Women for Awareness Student Club and the ESU Women's Center.
The critically acclaimed play "The Vagina Monologues," by Eve Ensler, is based on interviews with a diverse group of hundreds of women who reveal the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in women's experiences. The play has been performed worldwide.
