Sherman Theater Capital 30 Campaign

First built in 1928, The Sherman Theater has been a staple of downtown Stroudsburg ever since its opening. Its doors first opened on Monday, January 7, 1929 with daily performances of live entertainment as well as movies. While business boomed for many years, the theater, like many other of its kind, began to struggle.

In celebration of Woman’s History Month at ESU, the 10th annual presentation of the Vagina Monologues were held at Abeloff Center for Performing Arts on Friday. The stage was set with three podiums, three microphones, a large sign that read “cunt” (along with other terms for the word vagina) and a banner of thongs. 2 comments

Kingston concert postponed.

ESU Campus Activities Board's Sean Kingston concert is canceled for this evening, Thursday, March 4, 2010. Kingston was deemed unable to perform late last night after contracting the flu. A high fever and antibiotics have left Kingston unable to fly. Brian Tanhauser, CAB's Concert Chair, stated, "Due to the unforeseen circumstances of Kingston's illness, we had to postpone the concert to March 17. Full story
