On Friday, March 5, illusionist Bill Blagg III will be performing at the Sherman Theater at 8 p.m.

Audience members should expect twists and turns in the high-energy performance as Blagg promises to excite and entertain. Blagg's show, "One Night of Magic," is for all ages.

Critics have referred to Blagg as "magic's best kept secret" because of his talent and charismatic personality.

Blagg's interest in magic sparked when he received a beginner's magic set at age five. Since then, every year for his birthday, Blagg visited Magic Inc. in Chicago to learn the latest magic tricks and to practice his talent. Blagg's childhood and adolescence were filled with performing for classmates and rehearsing illusions for family members. Blagg's first performance was in 1998 at the Abbott Magic Get-Together in Colon, Michigan, where buzz began to circulate about the young man's talent.

Blagg's Sherman Theater performance will focus around a tape filled with predictions. The illusionist predicted what he thinks will be in the Pocono Record's headlines on Friday, March 5.

Last week, Blagg recorded his predictions on a cassette tape and shipped his predictions in a Fed Ex box to the Pocono Record's main office.

To insure Blagg's authenticity, the Fed Ex box holds the tape and all the original labeling, which includes the shipment date and tracking information. The Fed Ex box is currently on display in the lobby of the Pocono Record building.

This unique tape will be played during Blagg's two-hour performance on March 5. To insure that Blagg has not tampered with the tape, a random audience member will be chosen to open the box and play the cassette tape. If Blagg's predictions are wrong, he has agreed to give a hundred dollars to everyone in attendance.

Blagg promises a night people will never forget. Audience members can also expect to see a levitation performance, a woman cut in half and a special indoor snowfall, among many other performances.

This intriguing night of magic is a reserved seating show, so be sure to get tickets before they sell out by calling the Sherman Theater box office at 570.420.2808 or logging on to www.shermantheater.com. Tickets are $16, and doors open at 7:30 p.m..
