Stage II put on their annual one act plays last week. The production is completely student run. From direction to costumes, and everything in between, the students have put the entire production together themselves.

Four one act plays were featured in the show. The first act was called “Porcelain in Pink,” directed by senior history major John Hebbie. The play was originally written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, an American author of novels and short stories. The scene took place in a bathroom at a summer cottage.

The second act was titled “Tea Leaves,” directed and written by senior theatre major Angelo Revilla III. This play left the audience asking, “What next?” Revilla said “If anyone walks away from this play without some kind of question, I’ve done something wrong.”
Tea leaves according to Revilla, was inspired by the “magical realism style of art.” The scene took place at a street corner café.

The third act in the show was called “Beauty,” directed by Melissa Sherry and written by Jane Martin, a playwright from Louisville. This act posed the question, “if you had the chance to become beautiful would you? And at what costs?” The act takes place in an apartment.

The show closed with the act titled “10,000 cigarettes,” directed by sophomore art major, Albert P. Borges and written by Alex Broun, one of the world’s most leading 10-minute playwrights. This play was a comedy about four women’s addictions to smoking, and the harsh reality of the effects of nicotine.
