I miss being a freshman. I mean I really really miss it.
Okay so maybe not the awkwardness or fear of going to a new place but once you get over that I definitely miss the rest. I remember going back to my room and just lying on my bed and watching TV for hours. I even took afternoon naps between classes.
I partied consistently and hung out in my friends room when there wasn't anything else to do.What the heck happened?! I ask myself that everyday when I race around trying to find solutions to problems I didn't even know existed.
Being a freshman meant that everything was new. No matter who you were in high school you could wipe the slate clean and start anew. You did just enough so you wouldn't get kicked out and everybody was still interesting because you hadn't seen them for the last three years. Now I understand why older people reminisce so much. I remember who I was then and I can't seem to find remnants of that person anywhere.
I guess there are certain perks to being older. People tend to look at you more as an adult than just a kid. You get certain privileges that otherwise you would not get. Still there is something liberating when your biggest worry is what you plan to wear to a party rather than what graduate school is going to give you an assistantship. I guess it's all part of growing up but I still miss the good ol' days
