Women's soccer slip in second half

Slippery Rock University exploded for three second-half goals and beat East Stroudsburg University, 4-1, Saturday in women's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference soccer.

ESU senior Lauren DeRewal, playing in her final game, opened the scoring four minutes into the game off an assist from Julie Byrnes.

The Rock tied the game less than 30 minutes later and went on to their 13th victory of the season with three second-half tallies. All four goals were unassisted.

Slippery Rock, now 13-2-2 overall, out shot ESU 26-8. The Warriors held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.

East Stroudsburg keeper Samantha Marina made eight saves.

The Warriors concluded their 2004 campaign at 8-11-1 overall and 4-8-1 in the PSAC.
